Our
Story
The Penn State Real Estate Society
Before Old State Realty was founded, the Penn State Real Estate Society served as Penn State's only real estate student organization. Real Estate Society was well known for hosting industry leaders and guest speakers at general body meetings.

In 2023, the Real Estate Society Executive Board noticed the opportunity to create an organization that provided real-world experiences while developing students as leaders and young professionals. Thus, Old State Realty, America's first fully student operated mock commercial real estate fund, was founded.
Through dynamic case competitions and investment pitches, Old State Realty is the only student organization that provides the opportunity for students to get hands on commercial real estate experience. Old State Realty began official operations in the fall semester of 2023 with 15 active members, now having around 30 active members.
